MHS PIGEON

Naval Integrated Message Edition and Transmission System

Image

Naval Integrated Message Edition and Transmission System according to ACP 127 and STANAG 5066, called MHS PIGEON, was developed and designed by KenBIT Sp. J. to meet the needs of the Polish Navy. MHS PIGEON is a basic element of the naval data transmission through radio communication channels. The system ensures an adequate on-board circulation of messages edited by multiple users and the transmission of information within the framework of NATO interoperable cooperation according to the ACP 127 and STANAG 5066 requirements. In addition, the system provides the Chat function and support for electronic mail compliant with the requirements of STANAG 5066.

Additionally, MHS PIGEON is the interface to external systems allowing the transmission and receipt of messages that are ACP 127 compatible. The system provides multiple access to transmission devices for users with different access permission levels, and allows compilation of acoustic and control signals among the different types of communication equipment.

The system is implemented in the client-server architecture. The function of server is performed by the MHS Interface with internal SQL database, which has serial asynchronous and synchronous data transmission interfaces.  It allows to connect modems, cryptographic devices, or radio stations. The role of the server’s clients is performed through the applications installed on the users’ PC terminals.

MHS PIGEON also provides storage of messages received and sent, modifications made by users, as well as the ability to search messages using assigned criteria. There is a possibility to create a backup of the entire system.

FEATURES

  • Messages circulation – messages edited by multiple users.
  • Interface to the outside systems allowing transmission and receiving ACP-127 messages.
  • Multi-access of users with different access permission levels.
  • Automatic parsing of incoming ACP-127 messages.
  • Automatic generation of ACP-127 messages headlines.
  • Transmission status on server ports, monitoring of data stream.
  • Chat and electronic mail compliant with STANAG 5066.
  • TEMPEST made.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

MHS Interface is a basic central hardware component, dedicated for operation of the system, which performs the server function.

Functions of the systems are ensured by the special applications, which are activated by functional persons on PC terminals:

  • MHS Messenger
  • MHS Configurator
  • MHS Chat
  • E-mail (integration of any e-mail client)

MHS INTERFACE

This device is a central part of MHS PIGEON. Made according to the TEMPEST requirements. It has 16 ports for asynchronous and 4 ports for synchronous data transmission with availability of modem, cryptographic devices or radio station connections. The LEDs on the front panel show the status of transmission on the server ports. The equipment is fitted for installation in a standard RACK cabinets.

MHS PIGEON APPLICATIONS

MHS Messenger

Software for edition and transmission of messages compliant with ACP-127, operating within the framework of message system circulation among multiply users. Available is automatic parsing of incoming messages, automatic generation of message headlines and search of messages using assigned criteria. Messages and history of changes are stored in the MHS Interface database.

MHS Configurator

Software for MHS Interface configuration. It allows the port configuration of the device to operate in asynchronous or synchronous mode, selection of asynchronous transmission parameters and configuration of all available STANAG 5066 settings. Also available is the ACP-127 back-up for selected timeframe and account definition for system users.

MHS Chat

Messenger complied with STANAG 5066. It is customer of MHS Interface allowing for edition and transmission of short text messages. Accessible is address book for edition and availability to search the conversation history. Messages are stored in the MHS Interface database.

E-mail

Availability to install any e-mail client and any server, which can connect itself with the STANAG 5066 software of MHS Interface using SMTP protocol. It allows the servicing of long messages using CFTP protocol.
